More than a hub, a lifeline for Njoro’s Young People!

Young people in Njoro Sub-county are taking charge of their health and future! With teen pregnancies soaring at 21%, alongside rising cases of new HIV infections and gender-based violence, the need for a safe and empowering space was urgent. That’s why the Njoro Youth Empowerment Centre (YEC) was launched on February 14, 2025, becoming a one-stop hub for health services, entrepreneurship empowerment, ICT access, counseling, and networking. This event brought together young people, stakeholders, the Department of Health of Nakuru, and DSW’s Chief Programmes Officer to witness the official opening of the Njoro Youth Empowerment Centre.

This youth-led space is not just a facility, it’s a movement! Young people are owning it, leading it, and mobilizing their peers to access the services they need for better health, well-being, and growth. With strong backing from the Nakuru County Government, YSW, and partners, this center is a blueprint for youth-friendly services across the country.

“This Centre is our safe space—we now have a place to get the right information, support, and opportunities to thrive!” – Young people in Njoro.

“DSW remains committed to providing youth with access to essential health services and information” Angela Bahr – CPO DSW
