June Newsletter: Powering Youth-Led Impact
Welcome to the June 2026 edition of the YSW Newsletter.
This month, we share stories that demonstrate a powerful truth: lasting change happens when young people are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and systems they need to lead.
In this edition, we introduce the Justice for GBV Survivors through Community-Based Legal Support (JCL) Project in Kwale County. As stakeholders come together to confront barriers to justice for survivors of gender-based violence, this initiative represents an important step toward strengthening survivor-centred support systems and community accountability.
We also highlight different expressions of youth leadership in action. From grassroots youth organizations strengthening their governance and accountability systems, to young leaders in Nakuru gaining advocacy skills to influence decision-makers.
You will also meet inspiring changemakers such as Deborah from Kilifi and Daniel Mwaniki from Mau Narok, whose stories remind us that transformation often begins with one person choosing to speak up, challenge harmful norms, and stand alongside their community in pursuit of a better future.
