Terms of Reference (TOR) for Development of Animated YSW Strategic Plan Video

BACKGROUND 

YSW’s a locally-led youth-centred, feminist institution operating at the intersection of gender, socio-economic empowerment, and integrated SRHR services.

A generation of young people—especially girls and young women—shaping their rights, opportunities, and futures. 

Mission 

To advance equality, expand access to sexual and reproductive health, and build sustainable livelihoods by empowering young people with knowledge, skills, agency, and opportunities. 

 STRATEGIC PLAN  

The YSW Strategic Plan (2026–2030) will strengthen youth power and leadership to transform systems that advance gender equality, sexual and reproductive health and rights, economic justice, climate resilience, and accountable governance in Kenya. 

YSW has selected five key result areas, which will create the framework through which YSW will expand access to quality services, strengthen youth agency and voice, transform harmful gender norms, and support holistic youth development at individual, community, and systemic levels.  They are: 

• Integrated youth-friendly SRHR information and services 
• Youth enterprise and market systems development
•  Gender equality and young women’s empowerment
• Youth leadership in development policy    
• Institutional resilience, sustainability, and growth  

THE ASSIGNMENT  

YSW is looking to partner with a graphic designer to create a short, animated video of at most 5 minutes that will effectively communicate our organisation’s strategic plan. The video aims to engage and inform our stakeholders, including employees, partners, and the public, about our strategic priorities and objectives.  

The primary objectives of the animated video are as follows:  

• To succinctly communicate our organization’s strategic plan.  
• To create an engaging and visually appealing presentation that captivates the audience.  
• To illustrate key results areas, strategic objectives and initiatives effectively.   

The animated video should include the following elements:  

• Clear narration that explains the organization’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities.  
• Engaging visuals and graphics that support and illustrate key points.  
• A professional and polished look and feel to reflect the organization’s image.  

TIME FRAME    

Two and half weeks after the first inception meeting.   The Consultant will work under the direct supervision of YSW Head of Programmes.
