YSW Unveils Bold Strategic Plan for Intersectional Youth-Led Transformation

YSW is proud to unveil a new Strategic Plan that sets a clear, ambitious direction for the years ahead.

As the first Strategic Plan developed following our transition into a locally-led organisation in 2024, it reflects a strengthened commitment to grounding our work in community realities and ensuring young people remain at the centre of decision making.

The Plan opens with a reaffirmation of who we are as a locally led, youth-centred,

feminist organisation operating at the intersection of gender, socio-economic empowerment, and integrated SRHR services. It clearly articulates the vision, mission, strategic goal and objectives that guide our next phase of growth.

“This Strategic Plan is an anchor for our next phase of growth. It reflects disciplined thinking, rigorous consultation, and voices of young people—especially girls and young women—whose leadership shapes our shared vision,”says the Board Chair, Ada Mwangola.

She adds, “As a board, we are confident that this Plan positions the organisation to navigate complexity, seize opportunities, and deliver transformative, feminist, youth-centred development,”

The Strategic Plan also sharpens our focus across five core pillars that will deliver deeper, sustained impact.

As our Executive Director affirms, “This  is our bold commitment to feminist, youth-led transformation. We centre voices, agency, and leadership of young women and girls while advancing equitable access to opportunities for all young people. More than a roadmap, it is a tool to challenge inequality, shift power, and build resilient systems that respond to the realities of young people.”
